Session Three Slide Me To Vietnam
Today we started the session with the session by showing the students the minute by minute agenda. This got their attention so that they knew the urgency that the film needed to be done today. After, Marc lead the Peer Review session where we watched the students rendered YouTube videos from the previous session. This was an effective peer review. Ashanti, Nick, and Illa were very vocal about what they thought needed improvement. During this time, Ann was fixing the voice overs she recorded during lunch/study hour. Then Ann gave the speech as you can see in the YouTube video where she gave the students their Thank You cards. The students really appreciated these gifts.
Because iMovie projects are very difficult to save if it is not off of your computer, all of the students needed to start over. This time, the entire process went much smoother. The students understood that they needed to use the same transitions and text. The first 15 minutes of work time flew by. Ann recorded the last two voice overs of Lakoye and Ashanti and Marc took charge in the room. He made sure that each student had the same transition and the same text. Some of the students took their break, but most of them worked right through it.
The intended 20 minutes of work time ended up being 40 minutes of work time. By the time the students finished everything, rendered it as a .mov, and placed in the correct folder it was break. Ann pieced together the video as a whole. Surprising the transitions were pretty smooth. The class together helped fixed the video. Together, they worked on volume levels and they agreeed that Lakoye, Bryce, and Ashanti needed to re-do their audio. While everyone else was blogging, Ann re-did the voice overs for those students. All of the students in the end uploaded their individual video to the blog. The best part of the day was hearing both Nick and Erica ask "do we have this on our computers? I wish we did, man this was the easiest program ever." The final video is at the bottom.
