Afternoon October 25th, 2008 with Class of 2009

To start the class, there were a total of three seniors. This made it extremely difficult for the review. They were unmotivated and unwilling to do anything. PowerPoint Challenge went okay but not fabulous. All of the students were able to finish the project but there was nothing they needed to know so there was a lot of awkward silence. Then we had issues with logging in to Learn@UW. Finally, some of the students were able to figure out the problem. All four of the seniors (one more showed up) passed the PowerPoint Test.

During Lance's Excel review, he geared it to lessons the seniors could use in Excel. They were half listening but no one was really following along. Once we started to do the Superhero chart, the students were able to be more interactive. Even though the students were not that intrigued with Excel, the five seniors that were present passed.

Work time today was unproductive compared to previous sessions. The major problems was the lack of students. Kalia brought her boyfriend to ITA (a former ITA Student from 2005) which made her less productive and her partner Jasmine very irriated. If Kalia continues to miss session or just be unproductive, I will most likely just take her aside and talk about it. Most of my time was spent with Alexia. I basically forced her to make the website clickable. It was really tedious but she finished in time and staid a little bit over. Next session I may want to go through with her what she did. I'm not sure if she understood everything completely. Christina started fixing the design of their page. Chou worked with Zon and Jae more closely on their design. I'm not sure the progress of Issac's group. Next session, someone maybe Lance really good with videos shoud work with the video group. I would suggest Tony, but the close age difference may be a problem.
